This week I have been working on "girls day out" a event I mentioned it a previous post... And it's finally here!! Here is my schedule of the week;

Monday & Tuesday

During these two days we picked the clothes. We are running the Debenhams fashion show so clothes, shoes and accessories are all from Debenhams!

There are two shows which each have four trends within them.

Show 1: town and country, winter coats, leather and lace, prints, red carpet

Show 2: military, rock chick, power dresses, 20's vintage

We then had to select outfits for our 6 models which range it sizes according to the themes.

This was the part I loved!! Putting all the outfits together, clashing them and mixing designers!

Wednesday

On Wednesday we met our 6 models and began bringing our outfits to life in fittings!

Thursday

Here we where based at the venue, starting preparation for our first fashion show on Friday.

Preparation included, running orders, choreography and general set up.

Friday

The first fashion show!! Here we got to see our outfits brought to life, with make up and the beautiful hair by Terence Paul.

It ran smoothly on the catwalk but behind scenes it was manic!! We had 7 dressers and I was in charge of checking each outfit before it went on stage. Ensuring each outfit is which correct shoes, jewellery and is won as stylist: Martine Alexander wanted.

Each garment had to look prefect as it would on a shoot!

Rumi Neely is a fashion blogger and model; she is most popular for her style and photography, which first started her blog as a personal style diary for herself, thinking that no one would ever read it. I regularly check this blog looking for style tips, different ways in which to wear things and to see what Rumi is donning next I also like the fact that Rumi states where her clothes are from. The concept is street style and features photos of Rumi who boyfriend Colin Sokol takes, in a range of locations the main focus being her fashion. It also features Rumi at a range of designer studio’s, showrooms and live runway images featuring a “behind the scenes”.  Rumi says that her style is influenced Rumi is inspired by Cali beach, casual style and this is reflected in her outfit choices featured on the blog.

Elin Kling is a Swedish fashion blogger who runs Style by Kling. Elin is also the co-founder of fashion network, the owner of ”now manifest” which is basically a portfolio of blogs. Elin is also owner and fashion director of magazine Style by, and last year was the first fashion blogger to have her own collection for H&M. Elin’s blog showcases her life in the fashion industry featuring photographs of her “behind the scenes” at studios, fashion shows and meetings. Elin also presents her style on the blog, stating where her outfit is from which is my favorite bit!

 Blair Eadie, runs her blog as a hobby alongside working as a merchant for a specialty retailer she uses this to fuel her inspiration for fashion and styling. I love this blog as again it features her day to day outfits, telling her viewers where the garments are from, Blair also gives a link to a similar high street version which is why I love her blog so much! This allows you to have a similar outfit but at a affordable price. 

Shoot For Look Magazine

Sunbathing in Barcelona, and flicking through look I was pleased to see a shoot I assisted in called the "glam issue"

This is where we explored jobs that you might not have expected to be glamourous, Kelly Power is a hotel inspector and when styling for the shoot we wanted to bring her more up to trend but still keeping in form of her job. 

Just a quick blog whilst I'm at the airport...

I have been really busy lately assisting stylist Martine Alexander. Last I assisted on shoots for Look and OK magazine.

Martine also got news that she will be styling "Girls Day Out" in Manchester. This is an event that is really big in Glasgow and will be hosted an Manchester for the first time... Exiting!!! Martine has been given the Debenhams stage which she will both style and corrie graph!

In relation to this Martine and I attended the Press Launch in Manchester, which consisted of networking, canapés and free champagne. Success! We also stopped of in the northern quarter for a bite to eat!

On Wednesday Martine and I had a meeting with Debenhams and the director of GDA!

There will be much more prep closer to the date (7,8,9 Sept) and lots of work on the days! Which is why I've asked a few girls from college to help out!
